Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor speaking, consultant writer, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the company to NRT for $66 millions. Shortly thereafter she resigned from the business. Corcoran is among ABC's first Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared in each season of Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February of 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was second in a family of 10 kids who was born in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and also a housekeeper. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran’s childhood. In times, her family relied on the delivery of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father as one who occasionally was a drinker and treated her mother with disrespect and contempt, particularly after he'd consumed alcohol. Corcoran had difficulty in school, and discovered later that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated at an Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite failing several courses during her first year.
